I've had a tendency to struggle with what I enjoy doing over the years and sticking with it. Things happen, for one reason or another and you find yourself either losing interest or moving on to something else. Either way, I at least know I prefer working with my hands and being creative. That's the one constant that seems to keep me content.

Over last summer and fall I got into restoring and modifying knives, axes and vintage hand tools. With winter approaching I thought it was a good time to build a small workbench and try leather work to compliment what I'd done so far.  Here's some photos of what I've been up to. I'll post more if anyone is interested.

Some hatchet work with a leather sheath recently finished. These are a lot of fun. I like restoring them and testing them out on camping trips.

A knife I modified as I was bored with the tactical look. I polished the black coating from the blade and shaped a new oak handle from a wine barrel stave.

My first refinished axe.

An old Ka-Bar I'm working on. This one will be cleaned up and have a stag handle when complete.

Your Irago race is absolutely amazing, just like all of your artwork, so I was concerned that perhaps your ideas had been stolen when I randomly came across a picture on Google that bore an undeniably uncanny resemblance to your Irago race. Take a look at the picture in this link: [link] . Do you see the blue creature? There are some pretty striking similarities in play, if you ask me. Apparently that is an artist rendering of a creature in Dungeons and Dragons known as a Blue Abishai. After a bit of digging, I also found out that it was published in a book called Fiendish Codex II: Tyrants of the Nine Hells. The book had a publication date of December 2006, which means that your Irago race was around for a considerable amount of time before then. It might also be helpful to mention the artist's name who created that rendering is Warren Mahy. You may have already been aware of all of this, or you may not even care to bother with it, but I just thought that I would point it out, because I would want someone to do the same for me if they thought that my ideas or work were potentially being ripped off without my knowledge. Keep up the amazing artwork!
